Chem Catalysis: Strain derived from bubbles at monolayer MoS2/hBN interfaces for enhanced hydrogen evolution reaction activity

A new study has found a way to significantly improve the hydrogen production efficiency of a promising catalyst called monolayer molybdenum disulfide (MoS2). By introducing bubbles with different curvatures during a simple process, we enhanced the catalytic activity of MoS2. This simple yet effective approach could lead to more efficient and cost-effective hydrogen production, which is crucial for clean energy. The findings offer insights into designing better catalysts for clean energy applications and open new avenues for materials science research.
